- The Aon Celtic Art week long Workshop was given at the Island Magic 2007 Conference from July 21-28, 2007. The conference was located at Shawnigan Lake School, on Vancouver Island (Shawnigan Lake is between Victoria and Duncan).
"Learn the intricate art of Celtic design. Topics covered will be the basic Celtic knot, complex knotting patterns, trefoil knots and freehand knotting, as well as the double, triple, and quadruple spiral. Within these patterns we'll experiment with traditional embellishments and colours, easy gilding techniques, and the various ways Celtic design can be incorporated into any cretive work. An introduction to a variety of tools and mediums will be explored to help the student develop their own voice and skills in this ancient art form. All techniques will be covered and no experience in Celtic art or painting is necessary. Just a sense of fun and a willingness to explore!"
