This is a recreation of a page from a 15th Century Book of Hours. The original manuscript was made in a French/Burgundian Scriptorium, by what appears to be only a single scribe. This recreation is made on real animal vellum, using egg tempera and gold leaf, the same materials as the original was made with. My page is approximately twice the size as the original...which makes the original sized at 11cm x 18cm! This painting was accepted for Alphamark, a juried international traveling exhibition which toured from July 1999 to December 2002.
