A pair of knotted twisty pups, bordered by a delicate twisty banner above and below. The one pup is in tones of green and orange, and the other in berry and turquoise, to make a matched set yet some small color differences so you can make out their weaving patterns. This is an exploration into opaque technique for me, as I usually work in transparent glazes and colors. So to try out some ideas I sketched up a small series of designs that I could paint onto these nifty wooden panels I found at my local art store. These are still using acrylic, which I'm very comfortable using, but now that I've worked out some of my ideas using opaque color I want to try using a little gouache (like an opaque watercolor) on some larger pieces! You may also purchase this painting from my Etsy page at: AonCelticArt.
