A glorious owl created in full Celtic style! This painting features all the basic elements of Celtic design - knotwork, spirals, and zoomorphics, symbolizing the unity between people, the abstract, and nature. The owl, bracketed by two Celtic Tree of Life designs, rises above a sickle moon. Hounds, here representing loyalty and constance, guard the shapeshifter during his flight. I'm surprised there aren't more Celtic owl designs out there... to me you'd think it'd be a natural design to be rendered in the Celtic style given the mythology of the owl. I really enjoyed working on this one, and the quiet moodiness the overall piece has.
