The illuminated capital letters of the old manuscripts are clear examples of how the ancient Celts had mastered the art of Illumination. Here I have painted a "D", based closely on a manuscript initial of the Carolingian era. This painting was accepted for Alphamark, a juried international traveling exhibition that toured throughout North America from July 18, 1999 - December 2001.
