This pair of hounds were carved into a solid 1" thick piece of oak, using fine dentist tips with my Dremel tool. I then added a chemical patina agent to a paint that contained real copper particles, which allowed a true patina finish to bloom across the surface giving it an antique finish. I think it gives it the appearance of an old brass plate with rivets, like it was torn from an old ship or ruin. The two hounds of the ancient Irish hero Fionn MacCumhaill were Bran and Sceolaing, so I thought it was a fitting name for this piece.
