King of the Sky
A Celtic eagle from folio 5r of the Book of Kells. He is colored in brilliant blue, powder blue, rich cranberry and sunny gold with faux gold leaf everywhere else! He sits on a field of blue sky... the royal blue and the gold of this piece really makes him feel regal and majestic. Given that he's an eagle, the title seemed appropriate!
