Past Reflections

This was an idea that I had been wanting to work on for a while. The artwork design is based on the Holcombe Mirror, from the late La Tene era. The mirror image sits on a background of hazy spirals and swirls in dark umber and metallic gold shimmer. It's a very different style than what I've worked in so far, and I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out. This painting was framed in a gold wood frame, without glass, giving it a lovely gold edging around the spiral background.
