Sea Dragons

The dragons here are based on a Celtic snake design from the Book of Kells. A small seascape appears at the bottom of the outer band, flanked by a pair of tiny seahorses. The outer band is made up of detailed triple spirals, colored to give the impression of waves or the surf.

The outlines in this piece were done in coloured ink, each color of liquid ink mixed drop by drop into a cartridge for a technical pen. The final effect is really nice and gives such a different effect than the usual "black outlines with colored fills" that you usually see.
