Illuminated U
A little piece of the Book of Kells!
This is a recreation from a portion of folio 285r, one of the carpet pages in the Book of Kells. While making this painting, I found myself amazed that this was only a small part of the entire page...I'm in awe of the ancient monks who used to do all this with only a bone stylus and a compass to draft the layout!
