With Glowing Hearts

I often like to look at books of old manuscript "carpet pages" for ideas in color and design for my paintings. Here the pattern shows a Celtic influence with colors from an Arabic manuscript page. I combined all that with some leaf work patterns to give texture to the broad red fields. I really loved how this one turned out, it was really striking once it was framed and it's one of my favorite pieces.
