Cross of Ireland

I did this painting while in Ireland on an archaeology dig, during my evenings in the hostels and B&B's. I wanted to make this cross very traditional in style, which is why it has the maze patterns (particularly in the cross center) included with the knotwork interlacings. You'll see this sort of combination in many cross designs, especially in the manuscripts like The Lindisfarne Gospels and the Book of Kells. This has become another one of my most popular designs, and has been extensively licensed. You'll see it out there on many things... I hope you enjoy it!
