Kennedy Coat of Arms
The Kennedy Irish crest nestled in a matching mantle and helm, with matching knotwork borders. I created a glowing red and gold decorated K, in the style of the Book of Kells and other old Celtic manuscripts. The motto is Latin and translates as "I Cling to Virtue".
My feeling with the coat of arms series was to add a bit of the traditional Irish to the designs in the surrounding artwork and the shield where I can, and you can see small elements I've added like the trefoil knots on the main helm. I think adding a little Irish heritage into the arms is a fresh reflection of these designs. For those who want the purely English traditional they have a million options to choose from out there - but for those who want something unique and very Irish feeling, now they have an option!
